In today’s National Post, Jonathan Kay writes about China’s failed one-child policy and the slippery slope of abortion. The stories he relays are heart wrenching. Not only are women coerced into having abortions, but many are forced to have them as well. Mr. Kay writes, “Once abortion becomes widely available, commonly practiced, and state-sanctioned, citizens and government officials become jaded to the human reality of birth and procreation. Instead, the fetus is seen as an inanimate prop of social policy, to be terminated according to whim and expedience.”

Those who advocate that Canada needs an abortion law are often charged with being misogynistic; we hate women and we want to take away their rights. Nothing could be further from the truth. While we, of course, want to protect the life of the child in the womb, we’re equally concerned about the health and welfare of the woman carrying the child.

In December 2011, Stephen Woodworth, Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre, went public with his intentions of introducing a motion that would require a study into the definition of a human being. In February of this year he introduced Motion 312 and the first hour...

Grassroots democracy is exactly that, grassroots; it’s organic, and it’s the people who need to send the message to their leaders. Canada’s government needs to hear the message that we need a law! One very effective way to make that happen is by means of...

There are cultures in the world that value boys over girls and people living in those cultures will go to great lengths to ensure that pre-born females are never born. This cultural practice has also entered our country. Females should never be discriminated against simply...
